Set in New York City, Guys and Dolls JR. follows gambler, Nathan Detroit, as he tries to find the cash to set up the biggest crap game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they’ve been engaged for fourteen years without ever getting married. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, but Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown. Guys and Dolls JR. takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, but everyone eventually ends up right where they belong.

The Lion King Jr. tells the story of a young lion prince living in the flourishing African Pride Lands. Born into the royal family, precocious cub Simba spends his days exploring the sprawling savannah grasslands and idolizing his kingly father, Mufasa, while youthfully shirking the responsibility his position in life requires.

When an unthinkable tragedy, orchestrated by Simba’s wicked uncle, Scar, takes his father’s life, Simba flees the Pride Lands, leaving his loss and the life he knew behind. Eventually accompanied by two hilarious and unlikely friends, Simba starts anew. But when the weight of responsibility and a desperate plea from the now ravaged Pride Lands come to find the adult prince, Simba must take on a formidable enemy, and fulfill his destiny to be king.

Angela Rogensues currently serves as the executive director of Playworks Michigan. Playworks partners with schools, districts, and youth-serving organizations to provide on-site coaches, consultative services and professional development training. Angela believes in the power of play to bring out the best in every kid. She was most recently named one of Crain’s Detroit Business “40 Under 40.” Previously, she was named one of DePaul University’s “Success Stories: 14 Under 40 Alumni”, a recipient of the “35 Under 35 Leadership Award” presented by the Community Renewal Society of Chicago, and appointed by the then Mayor of Chicago, Richard M. Daly as a member of the City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations Advisory Council on Women. Rogensues is a current board member for the Founder’s Junior Council of the Detroit Institute of Arts and a founding board member for the Detroit chapter of Women in Sports and Events.

Jenenne Whitfield is the President & CEO of The Heidelberg Project. Prior to her involvement with The Heidelberg Project she had a successful career in banking. Then, in 1993, she took a wrong turn and drove down a polka-dotted street– through a colorful chaos of paint and people– and asked a paint-spattered man, “what is all this?” The man was artist Tyree Guyton and what he told her sparked an obsession that changed her life forever. She could never have imagined giving up her fourteen-year career to work in a non-profit arts-related venture, but she recognized this seemingly wrong turn as a higher calling. With a leap of faith, she embarked on the challenge of a lifetime.
